the song "grind to a halt" from the loose screws 10"  was originally written for a previous band members of extortion were in called the collapse, recorded but never released as the session was rushed and the finished product we felt was sub-par.
due to the short amount of time we had before getting into the studio for the loose screws session, we decided to re-work it and use it for extortion (a few other songs in the session were also unused songs written for other previous bands)

the collapse featured rhys (original drummer for extortion and drummer on the loose screws 10") on guitar, aaron of jaws and grim fandango on guitar, rohan on bass and james vinciguerra of total control, jaws, all in deep shit etc on drums. piotr was on vocals, but as his visa ran out before we were to record this and had to leave the country, vocal duties on this song were filled by rhys.

our tracks from the completed exposition were rushed to get released in time for our european tour and hence weren't mixed as well as they could've been. i've pumped the guitar up on 3 of the tracks and uploaded them.

vocals are a little quiet compared to the guitar now, but its not like vocals even matter.

in case you were interested.
we're currently writing for a few things, split 7"s with low threat profile & whitehorse, a split LP with cold world (from vienna, not the US cold world) and a new album. don't expect these any time soon as we're spending a lot more time on writing these as we feel the last two records suffered from tight deadlines and resulting records weren't as good as we felt we can produce.
however i may post some rough demo recordings from of some of the songs in the near future. keep your eyes peeled and feet shredded.

in case you were having trouble working it out, this is the new extortion blog.
"inspired" (the layout and whatnot are worryingly similar to theirs)  by the SUFFER blog, the fact that i'm having trouble finding somewhere to put show details on the facebook page and that myspace has gotten so fucking annoying to use i don't even bother logging in any more.
